What is an overhead multifunction shower?
It is a ceiling- or wall-mounted shower head that offers more than one water pattern from the same panel. Instead of a single rain spray you can switch between modes, usually with a diverter valve on the wall. Some models add lighting or a built-in speaker.
The water modes, in plain terms
- Rain: a wide, soft, even fall from many nozzles. The everyday mode.
- Mist: a fine spray from a few separate nozzles. Light on the skin and good for a gentle start or a quick rinse.
- Waterfall: water leaves through a slot and falls as a smooth sheet, more like a stream than a spray.
- Intense: a stronger, more concentrated downpour for rinsing hair and shoulders.
- Water column: a focused vertical stream, available on our Aquila Column.
Which modes a model has varies, so check the list on each product page. You can see them side by side on our multifunction showers page.
Choosing the size
Larger heads cover more of you and feel more like standing in rain, but they need a ceiling and a shower area to match. Our multifunction range runs from 400 × 400 mm up to 650 × 450 mm. As a rough guide, compact bathrooms suit the 400–500 mm panels, while a roomy walk-in suits 600 mm and above. Remember that a bigger panel has more nozzles, so it needs more water flow to feel full.
Lighting and sound
The Aquila series adds RGB LED lighting and Bluetooth audio. They run on a low-voltage supply (the Aquila specifications list 24V), so ask your electrician to plan for a driver outside the wet zone. If you only want water, the Silk, Vega Mist and Lumina Falls models keep things simple.
Material and finish
All AURIGA showers are made in SS304 stainless steel. SS Mirror is the natural steel finish. Gold, Rose Gold and Black are PVD coatings, applied in a vacuum chamber, which are generally harder-wearing than ordinary plating. Whatever the finish, wipe the panel dry now and then to keep limescale from building up; our nozzles are designed to resist clogging.
Plumbing: check before you order
- Pressure: our product pages list 3 bar as the working pressure. If your supply is lower, ask us before choosing a large multi-mode panel; a booster pump may help.
- Inlet: most models use a 1/2" BSP inlet. Confirm the inlet size on the product page.
- Diverter: a multi-mode head needs a diverter with enough outlets for the modes it has. Your plumber should plan this before the walls are closed.
- Ceiling: allow for the head's weight and depth. The Aquila Multifunction, for example, weighs 16 kg.
What does it cost?
As of October 2026, our multifunction showers start at ₹27,450 for the wall-mounted Lumina Falls and ₹36,950 for the Vega Mist 400, rise to ₹54,450 for Silk 8M, and reach ₹1,08,000–₹1,14,000 for the Aquila series with lighting and audio. These are SS Mirror prices; Gold, Rose Gold and Black PVD cost more. Current prices are always on the product pages.
A quick checklist
- Which modes will you really use? Rain plus mist covers most households.
- How big is the shower area and ceiling? Match the panel size to it.
- Ceiling or wall mount?
- Do you want light and sound, or just water?
- Which finish fits your fittings and tiles?
- Is your water pressure adequate, and has your plumber planned the diverter?
